I'm way behind

Currently listening to: Dispatch - Lightning

So it occurred to me that I haven't written in a handful of days. I'm not really sure how many days you can fit into a hand, but you get the point.

Let me start with Friday and go from there. After work I hauled buns out to Shrewsbury to meet the SocComm crew for Moe's. Everyone came late. Bunch of bums...
But good times were had. I then proceeded to my apartment to mill around for a bit while I waited for the show to start.

THE SHOW. The Coheed & Cambria show at the Palladium. Oh my god. I skipped the first two bands and showed up during the 3rd. They were this really bad screamo band that played WAY too long, but, then the good stuff started. I've seen Co&Ca before, but they were over the top that night. The combination of the finely setup smoke and lights, along with the astounding performance of Claudio and his large 'fro was intense. They played for 1.5 hours with only a short break between the main set and the encore. I wasn't feeling good and almost left right when they left the stage the first time, but, I was marginally disappointed because they never played "in keeping secrets of silent earth:3", which is probably my favorite song of theirs. So, I waited around for a bit.

They came back out and started it. It has a really really slow start, but it's a distinctive start, and everyone in the room recognized it immediately and went nuts. This made me pretty happy, because I was happy to see people thoroughly enjoy this song as well as me, especially considering it wasn't the one they pumped on the radio for way too long last year (favor house atlantic). They didn't just play the song, they played the full 8 minute long version of the song. It was insane.

All in all, a great night.
