Oh WPI, you kill me sometimes...
So I'm taking this course called "Advanced Manufacturing Processes" with Prof. Rong. This class looks like it will be very interesting and I'm actually excited to be taking it (weird, huh?). The course is cross listed as MFE 594 and ME 487X.
I originally signed up for the course as MFE 594 (a manufacturing engineering course) but then realized that I could have it count as an ME course and help satisfy the required 6 courses earlier. So, I ask around in the ME dept and registrars office about switching it over. Apparently, they wanted this course to be open to undergrads as well, and that's why the ME listing is a 4 digit number (grad courses are 3). So, if you're a grad student, it has to be an MFE course, but if you're undergrad it has to be an ME course. WTF!? This makes no sense to me. So now I have to finangle it with Prof. Rong to have it be an Independent Study so that I can count it as an ME credit. Ugh... this should be this hard...
